And he’s been a significant part of TPW’s life and my personal growth. We went to a supercool old venetian ostaria, and started talking about the old times…25 years. TPW SUMMER WORKSHOPS – 2023 ANDREA PISTOLESI F TPW SUMMER WORKSHOPS – 2023 ANDREA PISTOLESI From Postcard to Storytelling August 6-12 , 2023 Join Andrea Pistolesi for this workshop, aiming to re-evaluate the term “Travel Photography” We will look at creating and presenting a first portfolio, how to edit a photographic service whether it be for publication, a contest, an editor or for personal portfolio. Focus and drive: that is our objective. This is an opportunity to look deep within ourselves, to understand how much of our life we want to dedicate to this passion, in which direction to go to avoid frustrating distractions and how to be sure, in the end, that we can be proud of our work. We will consider the style, content, ideas and definitions of simple and complex projects. And, rather importantly, travel planning, photo planning, methodologies for organization once you have arrived on location. To sum it up: true photographic work. During the week we will also dedicate time to methods of presentation and the distribution of images, currently something entrusted to the web. We anticipated the event with our book https://www.tpw.it/tpw-anniversary-book/ last year, but 2023 will be the official date. To celebrate this important goal, we are thinking of launching a new project: MY TPW. We are inviting all students of TPW (sooo many in 30 years!) to send us max 3 photographs shot during their staying at TPW. It can be a pic that was used for the final selection, or a back stage pic, or a landscape or a portrait of someone you met during the workshop. Together with the images, it will be very useful to include of course your name (or nickname you want to use), some data about the photo(s): where, when, subject, possibly teacher. We will create a new page on our website www.tpw.it and then post it on our social media. In our book we had many photographs from TPW files: now it is your turn to go through your archives and find pictures to submit. So, why wait? TPW WORKSHOP 2023 This is the time of the year wh TPW WORKSHOP 2023 This is the time of the year where we at TPW meet and talk about the year just gone (or almost), and make plans for the future. It is a suspended time, where we explore mew paths to follow, think about new workshops and venues for the year to come. More than all, we think about new photographers to include in our workshops, trying to meet the requests we have from our students. In a month or so, and definitely before Xmas Holidays, we will be able to come back to you with an updated list. For now, we have two workshops scheduled: one with Giacomo Brunelli in Venice, in March, and one in Genoa with Anders Petersen. Registration is already open. In Spring/Summer we will run two separate block of workshop: Sicily (June) and Villa Lina (central Italy) in August. Different locations, different workshop. Some of the teachers from the past will come back, and other will join us for the first time. Now, two weeks break and then we start again with the second section.
