Dear Friends,
Welcome to our Summer Newsletter.
Time to enjoy holidays with friends and family.
And also time, for those of you who haven’t had any break yet, to think about plans for the following months.
Autumn’s weeks are perfect to dedicate time to your interests: less people travelling, easy to find accommodations, cooler days…
After our summer workshop, we are also taking a short break (TPW never sleeps!) before starting our autumn workshops
In October we will be running 2 workshops in Bologna
Bologna • October 15 – 20 • Book Making workshop with Stuart Smith
A full immersion week with Stuart Smith from Gost Editions, to work on the making of your photographic book. Based in Bologna.
Bologna • October 21-27 • My Personal Vision with Martin Bogren
A full immersion week with Martin Bogren, discovering day and night life in Bologna, one of Italy’s most vibrant cities. More news very soon
And in November, finally, after some years, we will go back to India.
Jaipur, India • November 4-10 • Diwali in Rajasthan.
We have been away from India too long. Time to go back! Diwali is one of the more festive celebrations in India and Jaipur, in the heart of Rajasthan, the ideal place to celebrate it.
Diwali, the festival of lights, sees millions attend firework displays, prayers and celebratory events every autumn.
The festival is celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs and Jains for a variety of reasons, although the main theme, which runs throughout, is the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.
We are also working on 2019 projects.

May 5-11, 2018
Arno Rafael Minkkinen : Going the Distance
With Arno Rafael Minkkinen we are planning to run a workshop in Matera (Basilicata).
Matera will be 2019 Europe Cultural Capital: lots of events will take place, the city is magical, and we will have the chance to see it at its best.
Program on line soon

May 2019
Photo- Moto 2019
The first edition run last spring has been very successful: riding through beautiful south east of Sicily, using scooters to go from town to town. We will definitely repeat this experience next spring!

Lisbon
Another successful workshop, we will go back for the Sant’Antonio celebrations, and explore day (and night!) life of Lisbon.

Some thoughts about our workshops.
As you can see from our program, we don’t list any “technical” workshop (shall we?) but mainly classes where you can develop new ways of seeing, learn different approaches to your photography, better define your style (Great! – I’ve managed to write a full sentence without using the word story-telling!)
This is why we like to invite new photographers every year, together with the master photographers who have been with us for many years.
New eyes, new energies, new visions.
In this way getting a current view of the world of photography from a professional perspective. What has changed so quickly in the last years, what does it mean to be a photographer now, what to expect for the future.
With TPW, you can explore these topics in two ways:
1) during our Summer program, where different workshop take place all together on the same week, and participants coming from different fields of photography meet and share their experiences.
2) during the year, during our on-location workshops, where you have the opportunity to work with one teacher only, in a particular area, on a particular topic.
I know it is not easy to find a full week to dedicate to this, but it is definitely worthwhile.
Shorter workshops, in the city where you live, definitely have some advantages (close to home, less costly, you can keep running your business and take care of your family) but on a week-long workshop, you have a different approach: starting from the travel to get to a new location, meet the others…change completely routine…finding yourself working on your image-making 18 hours a day…(who said this was going to be a relaxing holiday?!?)
Still when you come home from a week at TPW, you are full of new energy, both physically and mentally.
During a week at TPW, you totally forget about your life at home, and dedicate your time entirely to photography.
Years ago, joking, we said that at TPW you can even create a new identity and pretend you are somebody else…why not???
