In its first three editions, the project Passion & Profession brought aspiring photographers in contact with the professional world of photography. The profession of a photographer is one that attracts many people, but they often don’t know in which direction to take the first steps.
Our photographs give us satisfaction and push us to further achievements, but… how do we transform this passion into a profession? Is this possible? In which (field?)? News- reporting, travel, or fine-art photography, or commercial photography? Will newspapers continue being printed, with relative request for high-quality images, or will the information travel to monitor screens, telephones, and ipads?
Confusion is not the matter, but there are so many inputs that come from different sources and offer possibilities of choices without precedents. It’s not easy to choose a direction in the world of photography: on-site photographer, portrait photographer, fashion photographer, advertising photography… or photo-editor, post-production technician… and each of these fields has, in turn, further subcategories….
In this fourth edition of Passion & Profession, we want to try once again to clearly see the possibilities that the market offers. We have modified the program in a way to make this encounter even more interesting and stimulating. 18 different 2-hour seminars will be offered with a single expert that will speak about his/her experience and will respond to your questions. Various aspects of photography with different experts: photographers, photo-editors, post-production, editors. There will be 20 sessions for reviewing portfolios. Each session will last 30 minutes and will be held individually. Saturday evening will be a moment together: a dinner with the possibility to meet the photographers, the experts and the other participants, to exchange opinions in an informal setting and to attend the multimedia projection of P&P. Once again, and this time far from the stressful routines in our cities, it will be possible to experience photography in an intense way and to concentrate solely on our interest and future careers. This is, after all, what TPW has been doing for 20 years…
REGISTRATION
It is an intense program, with lectures and portfolio review happening at the same time. We will try our best to help you in choosing the right session for you, according to your needs. For this reason, the sooner you register, the better.
We will provide in short the complete schedule with times and names of the lectures.
Please check the calendar above and send us the selections of seminars/portfolio review you have chosen. We will add other portfolio reviews on Sunday afternoon if needed.

Seminars € 80 each
Seminars with two teachers (4 hours) € 150
It’s possible to have a 10% discount when registering for more than two seminars.
Saturday Night Dinner € 40 each.

Il progetto Passion & Profession ha portato, nelle sue prime 3 edizioni, aspiranti fotografi a contatto con il mondo professionale della fotografia.
Quella del fotografo è una professione che attira molte persone, ma spesso non si sa in quale direzione muovere i primi passi.
Le nostre fotografie ci danno soddisfazione e ci coinvolgono, ma…che fare per trasformare questa passione in una professione? È possibile? In quale settore? Fotografia di reportage, viaggio, o fine-art, o fotografia commerciale? Si continueranno a stampare giornali, con relativa richiesta di immagini di alta qualità, o l’informazione viaggerà sugli schermi di monitor, telefonini e ipad?
Non si tratta di confusione, ma di input che provengono da parti diverse e offrono possibilità di scelte senza precedenti.
Non è facile scegliere la direzione da prendere nel mondo della fotografia: fotografo sul campo, ritratto, moda, fotografia pubblicitaria….oppure photo-editor, tecnico di post-produzione…e ognuno di questi campi ha a sua volta ulteriori sottocategorie….
In questa quarta edizione di Passion & Profession, vogliamo ancora una volta cercare di vedere chiaro in quelle che sono le possibilità che il mercato offre.
Abbiamo modificato il programma in modo di rendere questo incontro ancora più interessante e stimolante.
Saranno offerti 18 differenti seminari di due ore ciascuno, con un singolo esperto che parla della sua esperienza e risponde alle vostre domande. Vari aspetti della fotografia con diversi esperti: fotografi, photo-editors, editori.
ci saranno 20 sessioni di lettura portfolio, della durata di 30 minuti cadauna. Le letture saranno individuali.
Venerdì sera ci sarà un momento comune: una cena con la possibilità di incontrare i fotografi, gli esperti e gli altri partecipanti, scambiare opinioni in maniera informale e assistere alla proiezione multimediale di P&P.
Sarà anche un momento di incontro con chi è interessato a collaborare al TPW: per i workshop estivi cerchiamo infatti assistenti, tecnici di laboratorio digitale, modelle, autisti…
Ancora una volta, e questa volta lontano dallo stress della routine nelle nostre città, ci sarà modo di vivere la fotografia in modo intenso, di concentrasi unicamente sul nostro interesse e future carriere. Quello che , dopo tutto, il TPW fa da quasi 20 anni…
PRENOTAZIONE
Ci saranno in contemporanea lettura portfolio e seminari, quindi cercheremo di preparare un calendario che accontenti tutti.
Naturalmente terremo conto anche delle vostre esigenze e richieste..
In teoria, è possibile partecipare a tutti i seminari, ma in questo modo non è possibile partecipare alle letture portfolio, e viceversa…
Pubblicheremo al più presto un prospetto preciso con orari e nomi, e potrete prenotare on-line prima, per essere sicuri di riuscire a seguire quello che vi interessa…
Controllate il calendario qui sopra e inviateci il modulo con la vostra selezione di seminari e letture portfolio. Se necessario, saranno aggiunte altre letture la Domenica pomeriggio.
COSTI
Il costo è di € 60 per la lettura portfolio individuale e € 80 per il seminario.
Seminari con 2 insegnanti (4 ore) € 150
Iscrivendosi a più di due seminari, è possibile usufruire di una riduzione del 10%.
La cena del sabato sera ha un costo di € 40 a persona.
