Guitar workshop in Tuscany, Italy • 2017
May 28-June 2017
June 4-10 2017
We have been running guitar workshops in Italy for the last 5 years, and every time we put together a group of dedicated guitar passionate players to share a week on the hills of Tuscany.
We will be back in spring 2017 with two acoustic guitar workshops.
Here is the updated program.

WE have reserved rooms for our group, and of course the first to register will get the best places!
Advancing Beginner Acoustic Workshop
The Advancing Beginner Acoustic Workshop is aimed at students finishing the Beginner’s Course on my web site and want to consolidate all that information and learn a bunch of new fun skills. If you “kind of” play F chord and can strum ok but it needs work, you struggle to play songs all the way through and you’re not really sure what to do with scales then this course is for you! But it’s not for complete beginners – stage 7+ on my course should be fine.
It’s a FUN course but we have 4 hours of classes on 4 days and 2 hours on the final day, followed by a group concert (voluntary – don’t worry!). We’ll be exploring strumming, ear training, music theory, basic improvising and jamming, technique development and blues.
Almost Intermediate Acoustic Workshop
The Almost Intermediate Acoustic Workshop is aimed at confident beginners keen to explore acoustic specific techniques before moving onto intermediate course material. You should be confident with open chords, strumming, basic theory and ear training. We may start using some barre chords, but it’ll be mostly open position playing. If you’ve done my Advancing Beginner Course (the “Oh When!” class of 2016) this is the one for you!
We’ll be looking at different skill sets every day: Finger Picking Basics, Solo Blues Guitar (playing blues on your own and mixing lead and rhythm!), Basic Acoustic Percussion (adding percussive hits and slaps while playing!), Making Chord Melody Arrangements and a little Lead Guitar Improvisation.
