Monica Sagaria Rossi

I live and work in Rome. I've studied Cinema at the University, than I turned into Photography and I spent a year at the Scuola Romana di Fotografia. As a photographer, I've exhibited in several group shows in Italy (“I Bought me a cat – 50 women photgraphers” in Rome and Milan 2008; Quotidiana Genazzano in Rome at present time and some others...) and I've taken part to workshops from photographers such as Mickael Ackerman, Lorenzo Castore and Leonie Purchas. I'm also a dark camera technician and I work in the organitation of festivals and exhibitions. After many years of studies and personal research, in this moment I'm very focused on my photography.

"Playing with black and white" is a project started on 2007 and still in progress. This is a first selection, it is all shot with a medium format camera, the format more familiar and intimate to express my view. This project is about me, what you see in these images is what I'm deeply attracted to in my life. The creativity process is what helps me to get closer and closer to my emotions. It's like an inner circle with an intense energy that push me to continue.
